Thatched cottage in Somerset

Our clients asked us to extend this simple thatched cottage, thereby creating a new kitchen and garden room, and to completely refurbish the shell of the building.

We created an oak framed garden room, set at a slightly higher level than the ground floor, to relate not only to the garden but also to the thatched roof above.  The interior was refurbished introducing a limestone floor and an elegant curved limestone staircase.
