Grade II listed watermill

This grade II water mill was a small, derelict, stone built structure with the remains of the Victorian cast iron undershot wheel in the adjacent garden. Our brief was to extend and refurbish the building with a large living area looking out onto the river.

By sourcing a reclaimed oak cruck frame from France we extended the building, doubling its size, using the cruck as the gable end with a glass infill facing the water. The Victorian wheel was refurbished to operate a generator for the underfloor heating.
